Souk worked with War Child to migrate its old website content to Wordpress CMS with a refreshed branding & design. War Child protects children affected by war and gives them the chance of a better future. The result is a warmer brand that puts the children first, a site where the mission is easy to find, and a team that can publish on their own, the same day.

Challenges
War Child wanted an identity that brings out more of the “Child” in their name, with more of the warmth and hope behind their work. Their mission and vision also needed a clearer place on the website, so visitors could quickly understand what War Child stands for.
Publishing was slow too. Every new page had to go through a developer, so it took around two weeks to get it live. For a non-profit that has to react fast to what’s happening in the world, that’s too long.
Solutions
Strategy
War Child wanted a refreshed identity and a website their own team could run. The project had three goals:
Bring out the “Child” in War Child, with a warmer and more playful identity
Put their mission and vision front and centre
Let communication and marketing publish on their own
We worked as one team with War Child from start to launch, so the new identity and the new website were built together.
Design & Build
We refreshed the visual identity with hand-drawn, childlike illustrations, a new icon set and a warmer colour palette. It still carries the seriousness of the cause, but now the children come first.
Then we moved all content to WordPress and built flexible page templates and blocks. Now the team can publish news, updates, and new pages themselves, without waiting for a developer.

Result
Before, every news post and new page had to go through a developer. Now War Child’s communication and marketing teams publish news, updates, and whole new pages themselves, so what used to take two weeks now goes live the same day.
On top of that, War Child has an identity that feels as hopeful as the work they do, and a website that makes their mission clear from the first scroll.
